ISE Announces This Year's Mottier Innovation Challenge Competition Winners

The Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering department announced the winners of the 2025 Mottier Innovation Challenge, recognizing three student teams for innovative, real-world engineering solutions. First-place team SmartGlasses (EnviroGait), second-place team Dozed, and third-place team GlassMate showcased systems-level thinking that integrates technology, usability, and impact. The Challenge, founded and supported by Bradley Mottier, highlights student creativity and prepares future engineers to tackle complex challenges.

ISE Students Take Initiative: Six Sigma Certification Boosts Skills, Confidence and Career Readiness

Grainger Engineering Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering IISE students recently hosted a Six Sigma Certification training, giving participants hands-on experience with industry tools, data-driven problem solving, and real-world process improvement. Students shared how the certification boosted their confidence, opened doors to internships, and helped them apply classroom concepts directly to professional settings. By earning industry-recognized credentials early, they’re positioning themselves for stronger career opportunities and a meaningful head start in the field.

ISE Senior Design Capstone Team Earns Second Place in National Student Design Competition

A team of Industrial and Enterprise Systems students earned second place in the 2025 CICMHE and MHI Student Design Competition for their data-driven AMR optimization project with Thermoflex, applying core ISE methods to a real industry challenge. Their success highlights the impact of experiential learning in the Senior Design Capstone, where students turn classroom knowledge into solutions that shape modern manufacturing.
